Information We Collect

The only personal information this website asks for is what you type into one of our contact forms: your first and last name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us in the message field. Nothing on this site requires you to create an account and we do not ask for payment details online.

If you call the number shown on this site, that call is handled by our office in the ordinary way and we keep the notes we need to schedule and carry out the work. That call also passes through a call-tracking service, which is described under “Phone Calls and Call Tracking” below.

Separately from anything you type or say, the analytics and advertising services described below receive technical information from your browser when you use this site — your IP address, the pages you view, and how you arrived.

How We Use It

We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, schedule service, and do the work you have asked for. If you tick the box asking to hear from us by email, we will also send occasional service reminders and offers, and every one of those has an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with people who need it to deliver what you asked for — for example a technician being sent to your address, or a manufacturer processing a warranty registration or rebate you have applied for.

Third-Party Services on This Site

A small number of outside services run on these pages. We list them because each one receives some technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, simply because your browser has to contact them to load what they provide.

• Google Analytics tells us how people find and use this site — which pages are read, how long people stay, and which links they follow. It is subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
• Google Ads measures whether an advertisement led to an enquiry, and allows us to show our ads to people who have visited this site before.
• A call-tracking service records which advertising or search result brought you to us when you call. See “Phone Calls and Call Tracking” below.
• Google reCAPTCHA protects our contact forms from automated abuse. It runs on pages that carry a form and is subject to Google’s own privacy policy and terms of service.
• Elfsight displays our customer reviews on the pages that show them. It loads from Elfsight’s servers and is subject to their privacy policy. Most pages on this site do not load it at all.
• Font Awesome serves the icons used throughout the site.

Our service-area map is an image hosted on this site, not an embedded mapping service, so viewing it sends nothing to a third party.

Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used. It records things like which pages you visit, how you arrived, roughly where you are, and what kind of device and browser you are using. We look at this to see which parts of the site are useful and which are not. We do not use it to identify you personally.

We also advertise online, and we use Google Ads to measure whether an advertisement led to a call or a form submission. That involves advertising cookies and similar identifiers, which are used to recognise your browser across sites and to show our ads to people who have visited this site before. If you would rather not see personalised advertising, you can turn it off in Google’s own ad settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies.

Phone Calls and Call Tracking

We use a call-tracking service so we can tell which advertising, search result or page led to a phone call. Because of this, the phone number shown on this website may differ depending on how you reached us. All of those numbers ring our office.

When you call one of them, the service records the number you dialled, your caller ID, the date, time and length of the call, and the source that brought you to the site. Calls may also be recorded or monitored for quality and training purposes; if a call is being recorded you will be told at the start of it. We use this to answer your enquiry and to understand which advertising is worth continuing.

Cookies

The site itself sets only what it needs to work. The analytics, advertising, call-tracking and other third-party services described above set their own cookies or similar identifiers when they load, including advertising cookies as described in that section.

Most browsers let you refuse cookies, delete existing ones, or warn you before one is set, and you can use those controls at any time. Refusing them may stop the contact form from submitting, since the spam protection depends on it. Browsers that send a “Do Not Track” signal are not currently answered by a standard we can act on consistently, so we do not claim to honour one.

Keeping It Secure

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please do not send sensitive information such as financial account details through the contact form.

Your Choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message we send. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

You can also limit the tracking described above directly:

• Turn off personalised advertising in Google’s own ad settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google publishes for that purpose.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, which stops most analytics and advertising identifiers from being set.
• Call-tracking records are created only when you call one of the numbers on this site. If you would rather not be recorded, tell the person who answers and they will stop the recording.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging work on a home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
