 Furnace Mandate- Things are starting to cool off on the furnace mandate issue.  The Department of Energy has announced that they will not enforce the minimum efficiency mandate for furnaces in the northern climate zone.  The US District Court has filed a motion that prevents the DOE from enforcing the standards until they have ruled on the pending agreement between the DOE and the American Public Gas Association.  All we are waiting on now is to see what the US District Court does decide to rule in the case and move forward from that ruling.  Industry experts are thinking that the most likely case will be to go back to discussions on the proper way to apply and enforce this mandate.  This is a very relevant and important issue for homeowners in our are.  Southside Heating will keep up to date on the issue and will publish any announcements on our website.  If you have any questions we have not answered or are looking for more in depth answers about your specific situation, please feel free to contact us at 952-884-2453 or email mnayes@southsideheating.com.
